Around the same time, it was announced that Hans Zimmer will compose the music. The first poster along with a title change to Sponge on the Run was revealed on November 12, 2019,[357] with the first trailer releasing on November 14.[358] The film was later delayed to July 31, 2020 (and later August 7, 2020) due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[359][155] The film's worldwide theatrical release was later cancelled in June 2020 and it was announced that it would be released in Canadian theaters on August 14, 2020, followed by a release on premium video on demand before heading to Paramount+ in early 2021.[360][361] On January 28, 2021, it was announced that the film would be released on the service on March 4, 2021.[283]
